INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – After enjoying another fantastic weather day across the state, chances of rain and storms will develop for our Wednesday.

Tuesday evening: Cloud cover and chance of rain will increase overnight with isolated showers developing overnight.

Lows will only fall in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Wednesday: Keep rain gear handy as we expect intermittent showers and storms for much of our Wednesday.

There is even the possibility of isolated strong to severe thunderstorms primarily along and south of Highway 70. The main threats are damaging winds and hail.

The highs appear to be slightly cooler with numbers ranging from low to mid 70s.

Thusday: Temperatures are expected to rebound into the 80s for our Thursday. Much of the state will remain dry, but there could be a few showers developing late in the day. The highs will rise in the lows in the mid 80s.

8-day forecast: The warming trend continues on Friday with warm and windy conditions expected. Much of the day is expected to be dry before another round of rain and thunderstorms move in mostly after sunset. We are still watching for the potential for stronger storms as well Friday night. The chance of rain and storms remains with us into our Saturday, and that could affect Indy 500 qualifying. Temperatures are expected to quickly slip into the upper 60s by Sunday with dry weather persisting into next week.
