OK2SAY is available throughout Michigan for public and private schools in the state. Anyone can submit a confidential tip.
Trained technicians receive the advice and filter the information to the agency that needs it so they can respond.
The tip line was set up in 2014. As of Wednesday, a total of 36,003 tips have been submitted since OK2SAY’s inception.
OK2SAY separates calls into advice and incidents. Tips are all calls and incidents are multiple calls for the same tip. According to the OK2SAY annual report, the whistleblower line responded to more than 3,700 tips and 3,600 incidents in 2020.
How to use the OK2SAY alert line
There are several ways to report tips.
You can call 855-565-2729 or text 652729.
You can also email [email protected] or fill out an online form.
An OK2SAY application is available on the Apple Store and on google play.
The first question you will be asked is: “Is this trick related to a school incident?” If you choose yes, you will be prompted to type the name of the school or city.
You will then be asked to detail the incident. “Which of the following statements best describes the dangerous situation you wish to report? » There are several options to choose from, you will have to choose one. You can put additional details in the next box and include a photo here if you have one available.
You will need to enter a phone number or email and can choose to provide your name.
Before submitting your information, you will receive this alert: “OK2SAY is for serious reports only. Our operators will take action on tips submitted through this system. False tips will not be accepted and may be subject to prosecution.
