As the Festival International returns to Acadiana on Wednesday, the weather couldn’t be more cooperative.
Forecasts call for temperatures in the 80s in the afternoon, but with dew points remaining low it will be very comfortable outside.
A light breeze from the north will accompany us throughout the day and by the time the first bands take the stage, the weather will be perfect.
We’ll see a gradual rise in temperatures over the next few days, so each festival day will be a little warmer and a little stickier than the day before.
Winds will shift in and out of the south on Thursday bringing in that moisture, but never enough to seriously increase the chance of rain.
That being said, a few spotty showers will be possible over the weekend in Acadiana, but the chance of rain will be around 20-30% through the weekend with a few more clouds.
Keep in mind that it’s going to be hot this weekend as the highs start to flirt with the 90s, and the heat index will definitely hit the 90s.
Be sure to drink plenty of water over the weekend as the temperatures will be some of the hottest we’ve seen since last summer.
