Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, June 23, 2022:

A blocked frontal boundary will be in the area today, keeping heavy clouds and showers in the forecast.

Showers will be possible at any time today. Most of the rain will be in the east this morning, but this afternoon more widespread activity may develop in daytime heating.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are generally not expected.

A few sunny breaks will be possible, but clouds will be more frequent throughout the day.

Winds will be variable today with the front nearby or even backing to the west at times. When the front is in the east, light northwesterly winds will blow. If the front pushes west, winds will turn south and increase to nearly 10 mph.

Temperatures will be influenced by the frontal position and the ratio of showers to sunshine, but should be around 75 degrees. Some western parts of the county can be warmer, while eastern regions can be cooler.

The front will progress eastwards at the end of the day, leading to an end to the showers and a clearing of the sky this evening. Temperatures will drop into the upper 50s tonight with overnight lows in the mid 50s.
