Your weather forecast for Cortland County for Sunday, April 10, 2022:

It will be another windy and cool Sunday as the persistent low pressure that has been influencing our weather for days finally begins to move away.

The high stretching from Florida to the upper Great Lakes will poke the slow moving Great Low further east today. The two opposing pressure systems colliding will cause the wind speed to increase.

With the low to the northeast and the high to the southeast, the winds overhead today will come from the northwest between the systems. Wind speed will increase during the morning, reaching around 15 mph during the afternoon. Maximum wind gusts will be around 30-40 mph.

Persistent northwest winds will keep temperatures cool. Afternoon highs will struggle to hit 40. Some areas won’t even be able to make it.

Northwesterly flow will bring some moisture which will bring scattered snow showers. Morning hours will be more likely to have snow on and snow off. Buildups should be limited to a light coating in some areas.

Snow showers will fade in the afternoon as the high pressure increases its influence. The sky is likely to remain mostly cloudy until after sunset when the sky becomes mostly clear.

Evening temperatures will drop steadily into the 30s with overnight lows well into the mid 20s.
