DETROIT – Welcome to Saturday Night and 4th of July Weekend, Motown.

Tonight is getting cooler, and tomorrow will be a repeat of today’s fine weather. Independence Day, Monday, will be warmer and a little more humid. Added moisture will increase instability a bit and lead to chance of rain. There is a better chance of showers and thunderstorms afterwards.

Saturday night will be clear and cooler. We can sleep safely with the windows open as temperatures drop into the 50s and low 60s overnight.

Sunday, it will be nice to wash the car and go to the swimming pool. Highs will be in the 80s near 85 degrees in abundant sunshine.

Happy 4th of July, Monday! The holidays will be hot and more humid. Highs will be in the upper 80s near 90 degrees. There is a risk of showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. A few showers are possible in the evening and may affect the celebrations and fireworks in the region.

Showers and thunderstorms are more likely on Tuesday with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

Any rain or thunderstorms become more scattered Wednesday. It will be warm again with afternoon temperatures in the mid 80s.

Thursday will be partly to mostly sunny and warm. The highs will be in the 80s.

Friday will be sunny and warmer. highs will be in the mid 80s.
